PADC Power and one signal coupling modules
The PADC is a small and contact free power and data coupling system, to transfer power to a binary sensor and return one sensor signal back to the
stationary unit. The PADC stationary unit is supplied with 24 V DC. The
power transfer to the mobile unit results in a stabilized 5 V DC output
(optionally 24 V DC) available to power any sensor or sensor processing
electronics.
One binary signal can be transferred from mobile unit back to the stationary unit. The stationary unit outputs this sensor signal in a different 24 V signal level, as long as correct coupling conditions exist. This is monitored by a data valid signal also generated by the stationary unit. Between data event and signal occurrence on stationary unit, there is a delay caused by the data modem.
The mechanical interface is ø 18-mm x 80-mm aluminum cylinder. The stationary power is 24 VDC +/- 10% nominal (short circuit protected) at current 100 mA. Output power for the mobile unit is 5 VDC + / - 5 % nom. current 25 mA. LED monitor power and data coupling validity.
