P2 Rod Probe Family

The 2-rod family of probes are used with the portable TRIME FM meter or fixed TRIME ES to measure different depths and volume of soil moisture. Probe rod lengths include 160-cm, 100-mm, 80-mm, and 50-mm. The probe types shown left-to-right is the P2Z, P2G, P2, and the P2D.

All rods are PVC coated to achieve the best measuring results, even in saline materials (bulk soil electrical conductivity up to 2 dS/m) with standard rods. For very high salinities up to 10 dS/m, special high conductivity probes (C-versions) are available with a thicker PVC coating.

To assure the best results, each probe type has an optional set of preparation rods (stainless steel) for difficult to penetrate material (soils). The standard coax-cable length of the probes is 1.5 m. The maximum cable length available is 3.5 m.
