Inductive Power/Data Coupling Devices
SK 2191 Power and Sensor Coupler
The data coupling system SK 2191 is a contact free link between an analog pressure sensor mounted on a cereal cooker and the remotely located PLC. The “banana” shaped elements of the coupler transfer power to the sensor and data back to a stationary PLC.
The transfer of power and sensor data is possible as long as the fixed and mobile units are located at the same angular position. The pressure signal from the sensor is delivered to the stationary side as a 4…20 mA (current) signal. In addition to the sensor signal, a data valid signal is supplied to a stationary PLC, confirming error free data transfer. LEDs show correct operation: green LED on mobile unit confirms availability of supply voltage and another green LED on stationary unit shows data valid status of the receiver and the demodulator.
The electronics and the antennas of the coupling system are completely integrated into the “banana” shaped 60° ring segments. Both segment have a cross section of 70-mm x 50-mm high. The internal radius of the aligned rings is 400-mm. with a 3-mm air gap; the external radius is 573-mm.
